The Regenerative Medicine Partnership in Education is creating educational materials to support the integration of its movies into class room curriculums. These materials were made for the classroom, for webquests and for outdoor activities.

Darwin 2009We are working with institutions all around Pittsburgh to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of "Origin of the Species" !

Webquests

Grade Level 3-5
Activity Time 40 min each

In all Webquests, students will explore the biology of a tissue of the human body, how it can be injured, and how regenerative medicine can help it heal faster.
Students will research regenerative medicine using this web site and then complete a Webquest. When finished, students will create a project of their choice.

Topics available: heart health, bone health, spinal cord and the immune system.

Outdoor Activities

Grade Level 3-5 and up
Activity 40 min each

Students will explore the heart’s pumping action by demonstration with the use of a bucket of water and their hands.Students will learn to measure their heart rate before and after doing jump rope exercises, to understand how exercise relates to a healthy heart.
