Where: The Genetic Garden
How can two yellow flowers produce a white flower? Visitors to the Genetic Garden discovered how traits are combined to create unique individuals. A series of Punnett squares made of colorful flowers brought to life the work of Gregor Mendel and Reginald Punnett. Visitors saw firsthand how Mendel’s and Punnett’s discoveries founded the field of genetics and led to a greater understanding of evolution.
Plants in display change at the discretion of the gardens.
